Problem is, I can't remember what!

IMO, the '95 Cazin was showing well; definitely not over the hill but no point in holding it any longer, either. It was much better than the bottle I had (also at TTB) just a few weeks earlier.David McDuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03274955351036700406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8322497686869465958.post-5502813139648757422010-10-19T19:53:25.054-07:002010-10-19T19:53:25.054-07:00"Black hole of awesomeness" - I like tha..."Black hole of awesomeness" - I like that! There will come a time where I too will need to employ this turn of phrase. And you, sir, will certainly be credited!

Lars, thanks for the read and the comment. Though my drunkenness might have measured a 4 out of 10, there were certainly those in our merry cadre who made up for my relative restraint (slackerness?) Love the 00 Overnoy/Houillon Savagnin. Sous voile bottling is one of my faves, or I should say would be one of my faves if I could find some. I have not been enamored with the few recent Cos bottles I've drunk from in the past year. 06 Pithos (1.5) was definitely a welcome exception.

Cheers,
JoeJoe Manekinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15920171629129831900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8322497686869465958.post-43572252317583345962010-10-19T09:34:04.500-07:002010-10-19T09:34:04.500-07:00I know different strokes and all, but it seems tha...I know different strokes and all, but it seems that if you're not drinking to excess at Ten Bells your not doing it right. Ok, maybe it's just me and the people I hang out with. The place is like a black hole of awesomeness. Whenever I went in, it seems bottles just kept showing up. And, well, they gotta get drunk at that point don't they?

Sorry to hear that the '07 Overnoy wasn't too exciting. I was really tempted to get it, but ended up going with the '00 Savagnin. Which was mind-blowingly great. If they still have it next time you go, get it. Maybe you've have it before, though. Still... I also had the Champs Libre Crozes (not at Ten Bells, but at Diner) recently and thought it was really quite good. Tempted to say I liked it better than some of the Dard/Ribo Crozes. Oh, and thanks for the note on the '06 Pithos. I have a bottle left at home that I'm going to try and hold onto for a while and see what happens. Have to say I wasn't too impressed with the '07 version. The reg Cerasuolo was much better I felt.

Lastly, I really enjoy reading your blog, thanks.larsmakienoreply@blogger.com
